Rick Gary.. New Sammy Hall of Famer

Congrats to longtime friend Rick Gary (back to 1969) on being one of the newest Sammy's Hall of Famer's. Rick can be  heard late afternoons on Sunny 102 FM. He joins two other Galaxy Communications Sammy Hall of Famers..."Big Mike" Fiss (Sunny 102) and Dave Frisina (TK-99).
PS- In 2009, Rick Gary was inducted into the New York State Broadcasters Hall of Fame.

SYRACUSE AREA MUSIC AWARDS (SAMMY'S) - HALL OF FAME NIGHT AT THE DINOSAUR - November 10, 2011

11/10/2011- Super night at the Dinosaur Bar B Que. Sammys Hall of Fame Ceremony MC's were my longtime friends the Dean Brothers ( John, Bob & Peter Dean along with Holly Gregg). I had the great honor of inducting into the SAMMY's Hall of Fame my good friend- David "Rock" Feinstein.  Feinstein signed with Niji Entertainment (formed by Wendy & Ronnie James Dio) as a solo artist and member of The Rods .

Niji has just released a cd of material (Nov 2011) by Dio & Feinstein with their early band "The Elves". The cd is titled "And Before Elf, There Were Elves."  Also released by Niji - on Vinyl Record Store Day (Dec 8) a 12 inch heavy vinyl picture disc of "Rock" & Ronnie's first "ELF" album. Note this special picture disc is very limited, there were 2,500 made.and they are numbered.

Also inducted into the Hall of Fame that evening were- Dave Porter and 805 (by Mike Donohue), Rick Gary (by "Big"Mike Fiss), Marsha Hagan (by Ava Andrews) and Joe Riposo (by Jim Spadafore). The SAMMY's "Lifetime Achievement Award" was presented to the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra by  Syracuse New Times publisher William Brod.

I  renewed old friendships with- Ronnie Leigh, Dave Hanlon, Doug Moncrief. Gary Frenay, Bobby Green, Dave Porter, Skip Murphy, Mark Doyle, Rick Gary, Frank DeFonda. Dave Frisina, "Big Mike" Fiss, Carl Canedy, Mark Hoffmann, Greg Spencer, Mike Donohue, Garry Bordonaro, Mark Bialczak, Jessica Novak, Liz Nowak, Tim Fox, George Rossi, Cato Eaton, Scott Sterling, Ava Andrews,  Isreal Hagan, Mike Davis, Debbie Foley, Kim Monroe, John Simone to name a few, sorry if I missed anyone.
