We were very saddened to learning of the passing of Hall of Fame Music Icon Chuck Berry on March 18, 2017 at age 90. Chuck performed in Syracuse and CNY many times. Here is a listing of them.

Oct 27, 1956 - Biggest In Person Show 1956- Syracuse War Memorial with Bill Haley and the Comets, Clovers, Frank Lymon & Teensgers, Platters, Clyde McPhatter, Flaires others

April 11, 1957- Biggest Star of Stars Show- Syracuse War Memorial w/ Fats Domino, Clovers,
Ella Johnson, Platters, Clyde McPhatter, Buddy Johnson, Flaires, Shirley & Lee and others

Sept 16, 1957- Biggest Show of Stars 1957- War Memorial w/ Buddy Holly & Crickets, Paul Anka, Everly Brothers, Bobbetts, Drifters, Frankie Lymon, Spanielsm, Johnny & Joe & others.

April 11, 1959- Star of Stars Show- Syracuse War Memorial w/ Moonglows, 5 Satins, Five Keys,
Clyde McPhatter, LaVern Baker, Schoolboys, Eddie Cooney, Charles Brown & others.

October 1963- Syracuse University Frat Party- w/ Coasters, Otis Smith & Headliners (Lloyd Baskin & Bill Elmiger)

March 27, 1971- Richard Nader's 50's Rock & Roll Revival Show- w/ Belmonts, Coasters, Dovells, Shirelles, 5 Satins, Bobby Lewis, Gary "US" Bonds and Bobby Comstock Band & others

July 26, 1985- Cayuga County Fairgrounds- Weedsport, NY - w/ Waylon Jennings, Jessie Colter

August 23, 2001- New York State Fairgrounds Grandstand- Syracuse, NY- Berry backed by Pat DeSalvo, Larry Luttinger, other. w/ Mid Life Crisis Blues Band (Frank DeFonda)

HISTORY OF SYRACUSE MUSIC "OFFICIAL SITE"- CHAPTER 184 - DIO DAY CORTLAND CELEBRATES "RIDE FOR DIO EVENT" TO BENEFIT THE "RONNIE JAMES DIO MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP FUND" JULY 9, 2017 AT NIGHTOWLS IN CORTLAND, NY - SIX BANDS TO PERFORM




Bands to perform at "Ride For Dio Event"- Sunday July 9 at Nightowls 
in Cortland, NY (Rt 11 in Polkville) to benefit the "Ronnie James Dio-
 Music Scholarship Fund". A ride and great day of fun and concert for a
 great cause......Music starts at 1 PM- till.... On a beautiful sunny day
Over 140 riders attended the jam packed event....Mc- Kat Walters (I-100 FM)
