STATE OF NEW YORK & NYS FAIR TO OFFICIALLY HONOR OUR LONGTIME FRIEND JOE LAGUARDIA ..AUGUST 24

Our longtime friend the late Joe LaGuardia (who died May 14) was honored by New York State for his 32 years of service as NYS Fair Marketing Director contributing to the fairs  sponsorships, organization, grow and on stage concert events that included some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry. 

He will be honored on stage at the NYS Fair before the Keith Urban concert on August 24. A space honoring LaGuardia will feature two banners hanging on outside of the grandstand along with a plaque that will contains Joe's portrait taken by Syracuse New Times / SAMMY Hall of Fame photographer Mike Davis. This ceremony will included Joe's family (wife Carol and his children) and friends.

STEVE CORY - LONGTIME CAFFERTY BAND VOCALIST ISSUES NEW ALBUM

Longtime CNY musician & vocalist Steve Cory has issued his first solo album.  His album "Your Stinkin Love" is available now on Cd Baby. We all know Steve from his longtime association with the very  popular  Cafferty Band. Caffery Band members recently reunited in July for Dio Day Cortland 2012. A tribute to the great Ronnie James Dio.

1900 PROGRAM OF "BEN HUR" PLAYING AT SYRACUSE'S WIETING OPERA HOUSE FOUND

During my recent travels I found a  March 22-24, 1900 concert program of the classic play "Ben Hur" that was playing at that time at  the Wieting Opera House in downtown Syracuse. This 20-page program listed "Ben Hur" as staged by the Klaw & Erlanger Company and starred Alpeonz Ether (a few years before the Ben Hur we know, Charlton Heston) with music by Edgar Stillman Kelly

DIO "OFFICIAL" WEBSITE ANNOUNCES NEW CD RELEASE (UPDATE)

The Ronnie James Dio "Official" Website announced this week that there will be a new Dio Cd release "The Very Beast of Dio- Volume 2" on October 9, 2012. It will contain the following 17 tracks-

Killing the Dragon, Push, The Eyes, Along Comes a Spider, Better in the Dark, Fever Dreams, Black, Feed My Heard, Shivers, Hunter of the Heart (Live), One More For The Road, Lord OF The Last Day, Electra (bonus track), As Long As It's Not About Love, This Is Your Life, Metal Will Never Die (bonus track w/ David "Rock" Feinstein) and Prisoner of Paradise (bonus track).

PS contains 3-bonus tracks, two of which are new and never been made availbale on a full DIO Cd before.

Art work was created by Marc Sasso who previously worked on Dio's "Killing The Dragon" and "Master Of The Moon" albums
