HISTORY OF SYRACUSE MUSIC "OFFICIAL SITE"- CHAPTER 220. THE PASSING OF ANOTHER SYRACUSE MUSIC ICON - BILL GERBER OWNER OF THE HISTORIC GERBER MUSIC COMPANY & Two Time Syracuse Hall of Famer.

The Syracuse Music & Sports scene loses another local icon yesterday (May 23, 2020) with the passed of Bill Gerber III.   Bill and his family own the historic Gerber Music Company with locations in Shopingtown Mall,  Fairmount Fair Shopping Center , Northern Lights Shopping Center and Penn  Can Mall. Bill was inducted into both the Syracuse Area Music Hall of Fame & The Greater Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame (a Champion Golfer) . His family has announced that a Celebration of Bill's live will be held in the spring of 2021. I,ve had the honor of working with Bill, his dad William II and mom Jean Gerber and other family member for many many years. Bill is deeply missed by so so many already.

HISTORY OF SYRACUSE MUSIC- CHAPTER 218 - ROCKIN THE REDHOUSE LIVE EVENT AT LANDMARK THEATER- FRIDAY FEBRUARY 28, 2020- WON BY LOCKHEED MARTIN's- DEFENSE MECHANSIM - FOR THE THIRD STRAIGHT YEAR.

Congrats to the band Defense Mechanism from Lockheed Martin who walked  away with the nights "Most Rockin Band " Award at the "Rockin the Redhouse" benefit concert at the Landmark Theater on Friday evening February 28, 2020. Over 1.000 fans attended in this years Redhouse biggest fundraising event.

The winning band received a choice of a performance at the Redhouse or a six-hour recording session at SubCat studio.

Other returning band to the event included- JMA Wireless, Bousquet Holstein Law Firm. Young & Franklin Actuators, Tyler from Advance Automation Corp, Plus new additions- The Vagabords from Bond, Schoeneck & King, Bronze Puppies from Upstate Medical University.

All competed in Best Look, Best Vocalist, Best Instrumentalist, Best Showmanship, Best Audience Participation, Most Rockin Band and runner up band.

This years judges included- Larry Luttinger, Letizia & Maria DeSantis
